Maximum Value Programming designed and developed this Virtual Medical Simulation for Philips Healthcare in 2011. This advanced clinician training tool demonstrates the advantages that come with custom eLearning development and MVP's unique ability to blend great design with powerful functionality to create experiences that are simultaneously informative and enjoyable. The virtual medical simulation first presents an integrated video of an on-screen spokesperson introducing the new HeartNavigator interventional suite. This video spokesperson was shot in MVP's own video studios in front of a green screen, allowing video of her to be seamlessly integrated within the virtual lab environment as well as its control room, both custom designed for this eLearning tool. MVP also included closed captioning for the hearing impaired.
After the introduction, trainees are shown a passive demonstration of the new interventional suite comprised of animation utilizing 3D models to give a sense of depth and reality to the experience. Trainees then move onto an active simulation where they are prompted to perform the steps themselves, with positive and negative feedback used to reinforce choices depending upon their adherence to the procedure. Finally they are tested of their retention of the materials conveyed and receive a personalized, dated certificate upon passing. This Virtual Medical Simulation demonstrates the unique potential that can be had when combining custom computer programming services with videography, illustration, graphic design, animation, and other artistic endeavors.
